East Coast Nannies utilizes an exclusive 7-phase screening checkpoint that all nannies must pass. 
Upon completion they are held to our highest standards of professionalism and excellence.

7 Phase Screening CheckpointPhase 1: Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience (most candidates have more)
  • Valid in-state driver’s license
  • Full coverage car insurance
  • Current Infant/Child CPR Certification as well as Infant/Child First Aid Certification
  • Agreement to undergo background check
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

 


 Phase 2: Application Process

Extensive application includes:

  • Personal details
  • Detailed employment history
  • Education
  • Job performance checklist
  • Job-related challenge questions
  • Professional child care resumé

Phase 3: In-Depth Phone Interview

The phone interview provides us with valuable information on potential candidate’s:

  • Personality
  • Organizational skills
  • Level of and motives for interest in the position
  • Communication skills
  • Explanation of any gaps in employment or further questions regarding resume and application

Nanny interviewPhase 4: Face-To-Face Interview

Our face-to face interview seeks: 

  • Interview preparedness
  • Appropriate responses for spontaneous questions that demonstrate previous child care experience
  • Verification of application and resume details to determine credibility
  • Honesty and integrity evaluation
  • Conflict resolution skills and abilities

Phase 5: Pre-Screen

  • Confirmation of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Reference check (This includes references of references)
  • Employment History Check

  • Social security verification
  • Multiple county hand search of court records to include felony and misdemeanor
  • National Criminal Database Check
  • Moving Violation Report
  • Violent Sex Offender Search
  • Online Presence Check

Phase 7: Training

  • Nannies must complete ECN’s organizational child care standards training
  • Professional portfolio building
